The popular device best known today as a "music box" developed from musical snuff boxes of the 18th century and was originally called carillons à musique (French for "chimes of music"). The example here is a lovely Mid-Century Modern music box in walnut, perfect for the dresser as a jewelry box or as a desk accessory box. Note: This is a vintage piece that has clearly been loved and used. It is in good overall condition; however, it does show signs of wear to be expected. Please refer to images that showcase the piece in detail. Japan, circa 1960s Measures: 8 1/2" x 3" x 4 1/2"
