Alvar Aalto was a Finnish architect, designer and academic. Since the late 1950s, he has been nationally and internationally a well-known master and significant names mentioned in connection with architectural modernism. In addition to Finland, Aalto's numerous design works include buildings in other parts of Europe and the United States. Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) enjoyed an exceptionally rich and varied career as an architect and designer, both at home in Finland and abroad.
